Polish Neuroscience Society is organizer of the biennial international conferences focused on a bright topic spectrum of the modern neurobiology.
14th International Congress of the Polish Neuroscience Society” will be held this year in Katowice from 28th to 30th August.

During the conference researchers from the leading scientific centers will present 6 plenary lectures:

  1. Prof. Magdalena Götz, Helmholtz Zentrum München, German Research Center for Environmental Health, Munich, Germany
    “From neurogenesis to neural repair”
  2. Prof. Hannah Monyer, German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg, Germany
“GABAergic neurons and their role in the coordination of intra- and interareal neuronal activity”
  3. Prof. Hartmut Wekerle, Max Planck Institute (MPI) of Neurobiology, Martinsried, Germany
“Multiple sclerosis - Formation of a brain autoimmune disease”
  4. Prof. Marcello Rosa, Biomedicine Discovery Institute and Department of Physiology, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia
“Plasticity of the primate visual pathway following lesions in early and mature life”
  5. 5. Prof. Gernot Riedel, The Institute of Medical Sciences, University of Aberdeen, King's College, Aberdeen, U K
“Preclinical development of treatments for tauopathies: translation to clinic and back”
  6. Prof. Graham Sheridan, School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Science, Centre for Stress and Age-Related Disease
“Mechanobiology of the brain in health and disease”

The most actual results of research will be also presented as 12 scientific symposia focused on various topics on neuroscience. The symposia aim to gather scientists from related field of neurobiology giving opportunity for data presentation and rise for discussion.

Organizers have planned also two poster sessions for about 200 participants each. This mode of data presentation gives excellent opportunity for direct contacts among researchers, data discussion and exchange of experience. It is also a platform for launching of scientific collaboration among scientists from various research institutes.

Abstracts of all scientific contributions presented during the conference will be published in Acta Neurobiologiae Experimentalis.
